Wow! Has it been over two years since I posted last? Is time speeding up or is time spiraling down? Of course, we would all have a different opinion but I think we need to use what time we may have left to fight the good fight and do everything we can to defend the Holy Catholic Church. Through the centuries there have been many who fought the good fight even unto death. Now God has placed us here in this time to do the same. It is not a war between earthly men and women but a Spiritual Warfare. We are up against the principalities. Sure, we know the gates of Hell will not prevail against her but Our Lord has placed us in this time, so fight!For strength, attend Mass and receive the Eucharist, pray the Rosary often. Happy New Year!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY AND A BLESSED NEW YEAR!

Although our weather was very 'rough" Christmas Eve, I managed to attend a Christmas Vigil at 5PM. I don't know about other areas of the country but we no longer have what we called a Midnight Mass. To me, that's sad. I am not saying the Mass I attended was not beautiful, it was. Made especially so by the young people's choir which was composed of mostly girls and my two grandsons, ages 12 and 13. The high voices of the girls and the deep voices of my grandsons created a beautiful harmony. I have no doubt that the participation of these young people was most pleasing to the Lord.

I stayed the night at daughter's home as I live near the Pascagoula River and a bridge was underwater. I am aware that the Lord said He would not destroy us by water ever again but we certainly have had our share of destructive WATER.

I am prayerfully looking forward to the New Year and pray that the pendulum swings back to the good life.

Well, it's almost Thanksgiving and I have so much to thank Our Lord for this year. Of course it's not the Thanksgivings of years ago when I was cooking for a relatively large family. As they grew into adults and married, I was still providing the "feast". It took three days to have everything ready for my children, their husbands and grandchildren. I seldom sat as I was serving them. I enjoyed it all. This year I will be dining with my youngest daughter and her family. I was only asked to prepare one dish and that was a cold potato salad that has been in the family forever. Also there will be a Mass at 8AM that I plan to attend. Will be a great way to start the day.

I am jubilant by all the Catholics that are on the Internet, the News want us to think that there are only a small minority of us. Not so!.

Weather-wise. it is a heavily clouded rainy day which in many people would be considered an awful day. I love rainy days and use the time reflecting on my past, the present life I live and what the future has in store for me. When I look back to the past I see that I lived a truly Catholic life .. I was taught by good nuns who didn't want to be a priest or the pope. The Mass was said in Latin and all the later hype about changing to the vernacular was not necessary. We each had our own Missals and on the page opposite the Latin was English. Priests were holy men who were faithful to the Magisterium .. their homilies were focused on the Gospel of Christ and not present day political agenda. The Blessed Mother said in her Magnificat, "All generations will call me blessed as the Lord has done great things for me." The Mother of Our Lord, Jesus Christ said this .. we called her blessed. I realize now that I was given a "gift" to hear and live the true teachings of the Catholic Church and I am humbly grateful.

Unfortunately, in the 60's, the past was to eventually become the present time we live in. I know saying that "it makes my blood boil" is not a charitable thing to say but I was there and we were deceived. Pope Benedict XVI is calling out to all faithful Catholics to stand up and be counted. Do we have the courage to do that? How do we do it? We pray, pray, pray and ask the Holy Spirit to lead the way. Use the Internet as a means to defend Him, We might have to endure terrible things said to us but don't respond in an ugly way. Jesus Christ, Savior of the World, said not a word in His defense but now is the time for US to speak for Him.

My Future at this time may be a bleak one but my faith and the love I have for Him and His church casts out all fear.

On September 5, 1959, I married a young airman stationed in Biloxi, MS. We dated for two yrs. before we became serious and marriage was proposed. Not only was he my husband, he was my best friend for 40 yrs. 3 mos. Before his death in 1999, he said to me, "We were gypped out of celebrating our 50th." Here's to us George and the happy years we had together.

My daughter and son-in-law, Dave and Anita hosted a party in our honor in their home to mark the anniversary. Another daughter Peggy was present and shared in the preparations. Relatives were there, my brother Billy, my sister Ada. sisters-in-law, nieces, cousins, and five grandchildren. Our two other daughters, Mary and Ruth Ann could not be present. Would have been great to have them and the eight other grandchildren. This is on a religious blog and properly so, we married in Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Pascagoula, MS where the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass was offered and the Holy Eucharist received.

I heard that someone from a Catholic blog left a comment on another Catholic blog chastising the blogger for including political news on a religious blog. Well I am guilty of doing the same thing and definitely think today's political news does have a place on a Catholic blog. Being a Catholic doesn't mean we have no contact with world issues, quite the contrary. What about abortion? Shouldn't that be an issue in all religious denominations? "Thou Shalt Not Kill" is one of ten commandments given to Moses by God. Jesus told his apostles, "Teach them to observe all the commands I give you". Now if you don't believe in God, no amount of talking will convince you otherwise.

The many people protesting healthcare reform are REAL people, not a "fringe" as the media is reporting. I live in a small town but if I have a chance to protest, I will. There has been no rational explanation why because 46 muillion have no insurance that those of us who are insured and satisfied will eventually be thrown into the "pool" with them. A neighbor of my daughter's recently returned from Germany after taking care of her aged mother until she died. She was refused medical treatment because she was considered "too old". I don't know the cut off age when you are considered too old there but they place more focus on the very young.

Abortion is the cause of America's economical downfall. The babies aborted from 1973 through 1994 would be in the workforce now. I, as many others did, worked when I was 15 yrs.old. I read China is having problems and asking women to have a second child.

We are reaping what we have sown but it is not too late to turn around.

I suppose a few of my visitors have been wondering why I have not been here ... well it's not because I didn't try but each time I came the "stench" emanating from my blog was too much to bear. I am braving it today as I know where the smell is coming from .. my blog is a FISHY BLOG. Why? Because I talk about things like it is wrong to abort babies as God gives them life and we are destroying that life. If we kill a baby in the womb, we will also kill the elderly and infirmed., I will admit that I am among the elderly and I fear that I will have to be eliminated to make room for others. Another strike against me is that I am also retired after working and paying in taxes for many years .. so my usefulness is considered over. Because I am a responsible person, I have insurance. I should have no worries then but I also am not "dumb", I hear what is proposed and the private insurance companies will be forced to shut down and "socialized" care will take their place.

Because I have experience with a FISHY BLOG, I also know FISHY TALES when I hear them.

The Pope's New Encyclical-Caritas in Veritate

The Holy Father has recently released a much anticipated encyclical entitled Caritas in Veritate. In our most recent episode of Weekly Wisdom I share some initial impressions of this encyclical. I have frequently preached and taught on the indissoluble and absolute integrity of love and truth. There is no authentic charity without it being rooted in truth. If love is not in fact rooted in truth, then it is not authentic love. Charity in truth is the driving force behind the authentic development of every person, as the Holy Father points out.
The contemporary disintegration of societies and economies has at its root a failure or denial of this essential reality. When individuals fail or refuse to live charity in truth, then this is reflected in societies and economies. Love and truth are names for God. Jesus, the Lord (the God that is Love and Truth) is the Vine. We and all of society are the branches. If we refuse to live in Christ, then there is no life, either in societies or economies. This follows ultimately as surely as morning follows night.
The Holy Father points out the indispensable link between life ethics and social ethics. If a person or nation fails or refuses to respect the right to life, then it is folly to imagine that they will respect anyone or anything ultimately. If you don’t respect an individual’s right to life, how will you ever ultimately respect a worker’s right to work? You won’t.
We are on a collision course with social and economic chaos unless we begin to live charity in truth. This happens one person at a time. Make sure that you are one person that is living charity in truth.

Yes, I am still around and living in the chaos that we have all had a part in creating. I still attend the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and receive the Eucharist. The sacrileges that I have witnessed are becoming fewer only because many have left the Church. The ones that remain are the ones with faith .. the remnants. Although I haven't attended a Mass that was truly Catholic since the early 1960's, I have faith that it will return in all it's spendor and the truth will set us all free. The Church is ordinating Deacons and they are in their positions immediately. These are the ones that will fight for Our Lord's church. We also have many young Catholics in their 20's who have a strong faith and will be instrumental in restoring the truth. March on Christian Soldiers!

I thought I had better post something today before the few people that come here think I died or am terribly ill. No, neither of those things would be true at this time, I am well and busy. I am abreast of the worldly news and Catholic news. The world has given license to many things that are "abhorrent" and it is called freedom of choice, a church that has been around since Jesus Christ walked this earth is relentlessly persecuted (Notre Dame). I read or heard that if someone says anything against another church they will be prosecuted. The Catholic Church is an exception, say anything you want to. The great divide between "C"atholics and "c"atholics came as a surprise to me. Although I am saddened, all the things that are taking place, strengthen my faith. A time is coming when protestant churches will not remain, we will be a godless world. Many of us will call out to God to save us, the same God we walked away from.

I believe that it is not too late to turn around. Because there is strength in numbers, if all denominations fought alongside the Catholic Church, we can save, if not the world, America, the land of the FREE.

Talking about procrastinating .. that's what I have been doing for a month. I have lots to say and have chosen to begin with something that began in February during a mission being held at the church. A nicely dressed black lady chose to sit next to me and she introduced herself as a convert to catholicism and a retired doctor of podiatry. We "hit if off" quite well and for many nights we exchanged phone calls. She said she voted Republican all her life but because Obama was black she voted for him. That was okay with me because I would probably have done the same thing. Each call she did most of the talking, I interjected when I disagreed. I heard about slavery, the civil war and that blacks needed pride of ownership. Here I interjected and asked her exactly what she meant about ownership. Do you mean that like everybody that they work for it? I never got an answer. I talked about abortion and as a Catholic she couldn't condone it. She said Obama cares nothing about that at all, the supreme court decides it, that he is just a "puppet" (her words). She talked about us voluntarily ending our lives at 70 yrs. old as we have lived our life and should let others have a life. I said, You would do that? She said, " Yes I would, it is the right thing to do." I said, "Is it because you are not 70 yet?" All the while she was saying these things, icy chills were running up and down my spine. It's been a couple of weeks since I have posted, just busy with other things. In my last post, I mentioned that I felt like a Catholic again after so many years wandering and that if it should disappear tomorrow, I will have had that. Well it took almost a week before the disappearance occurred. Let me say this before I continue ... I have a hard time talking about a priest as there are many good ones but I have to admit there are some really bad ones out there trying to destroy the Church. I believe that many people actually think of the Catholic Church as a hindrance to attaining their aspirations. That hindrance is the Church's stance on moral issues and upholding life from conception to death, thus somehow stopping the world from finding "Utopia".

On Ash Wedneday, before Mass began we went up to get ashes put on our foreheads with the words, "Remember man thou art dust and into dust thou shall return" and we respond with an "Amen". Unfortunately, I was in a line that led straight to a young school teacher and she said to me, "Jesus loves you." I hesitated for a second and responded, "Thank you". I wanted to cry. Sadly, I don't think she was even Catholic. My daughter said in the line she was in that the man tried to say the right words but he only came close. The fill in priest was on another side of the altar and I am glad I don't know what he said. I have witnessed his actions twice and he certainly isn't reverent. I won't elaborate on his actions. I will only say this, I didn't stay for Mass or Communion because I don't think Christ was there. Because that priest was still there Sunday I went to the church I was married in and it was passable. My daughter and husband go later as they have children so they went to a different Catholic church and endured not only guitars but bongo drums. So much for sacred music.

So you good Catholics out there, pray, pray, pray!

Know where I have been the last few days... attending a Mission in our parish. It began on the evening of the 9th and ended on the evening of the 12th. It was fantastic. What do I mean using that adjective? Using good to describe those four nights wouldn't be enough. If it disappears tomorrow, for those nights I was a Catholic again, not just in my heart as it has been for all these long years but a Catholic in action. Celebrating the Mass, receiving the Eucharist. Everyone in attendance went to confession. There wasn't the abuse of a general confession where everyone is absolved at the same time. Three priests heard individual confessions.

We are living in some difficult times, so you Catholics out there, get your act together.

Before I begin this post, I would like to say to my once earthly father, "Happy Birthday Daddy, Pray for Us." I have said many times in my life that I am a stickler for the truth and once I have found that truth, I will hold on, no matter how rough things may get for me. Oh, I don't arrive at these truths on my own, I use the gifts that have been given to not only me but to others.

With my daughter's permission, I have posted her response to Mississippi being first among the religious.

" I'd like to preface this post with this acknowledgment: I am aware that what I am about to say is unimportant, illogical, and pointless in the grand scheme of things....

That said... I am from Mississippi. Yes - from that state that is last in everything from education to pet license registration.. (including Latin masses). First only in such things as teen pregnancies and obesity -- oh and honored with the unique privilege of being the only state east of the Mississippi river to have been used for a nuclear test site. (Thanks!)

I was thrilled (but not surprised!!) to see my state first in this particular poll.

Speaking to the protestant/Catholic divide... Yes - Mississippi is predominantly protestant. However, here on the mostly Catholic (sadly, more culturally now than spiritually) Gulf Coast we have been all but completely abandoned. Our diocese is currently without a bishop. Our parishes and schools have been closed, merged, and protestantized.

With a lot of prayer and support - we could see little dismissed-as-protestant states such as ours bring about a profound renewal of the Catholic faith... My Catholic ancestors founded every city on the Mississippi Gulf coastline beginning just over 300 years ago. We could make 'em proud guys.

Pray for us -- please. Don't just dismiss us because we're not impressive enough percentage-wise."

When all the chaos started after Vatican II, although I knew as so many others did that something was wrong we were waiting on official word from the Magesterium. Well you know folks when there are enemies in the Church hellbent on nothing but destruction, we didn't get the word. Although Pope (Paul VI) at the time and then John Paul II tried they had to trust those who served under them and the true teachings of Vatican II were never told to us. I have since read many of the documents and they are Catholic just as they have always been for centuries. Unfortunately, we didn't have the Internet as we do today because I believe much of this would not have happened. I applaud Pope Benedict XVI for going on YouTube.

I felt like the Israelites must have felt wandering in the desert for forty years. Did I go to Church all through the chaotic years? No I did not attend regularly. I was much younger and I was angry about all that was happening. I saw, heard and had a few heated discussions with certain priests and literally asked, "What's going on? Why has the Blessed Mother's statues been removed from the Church? Why is the tabernacle not in a place of honor anymore? To find a parish church that was in accord with the Magesterium became an impossibility as the years passed.

A priest told me that Jesus did not know he was God. I think I screamed, "What?" He said that Jesus was uneducated and that's why he spoke in parables. And since he saw His mother bake bread etc. and farmers sowing seed , He used them in the parables.

Every night for 1 1/2 yrs., I have been praying the rosary. I am praying for all the people I have known in my life and also for those who only played a very minute part. If I have had any contact with you on the Internet, as a beggar on the street or we just had a friendly chat in Wal- Mart's, you are in my prayers. So if you should find yourself doing something or thinking something that never crossed your mind before, you can lay the blame on me. Of course, is there any need to say that I mean only good things?

Many people have a misunderstanding of the Rosary, it is all scriptural. I say the Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious Mysteries on different nights. Comes straight from the bible.

It has been exactly two weeks since I have posted. I am not ill. it takes me this long to get out of the holiday mood. I think that things in the Catholic Church are coming at us fast. Sunday I attended the 8AM Mass and was greeted at the door by a brusque speaking man. Not that his rudeness affected my answer to his question, I just don't care for men who act roughly. With pen and paper in hand he asked me to choose what ministry I would like to assist in. He said they needed lectors and extraordinary ministers. My answer to him was, "Neither but thanks for asking." I have nothing against doing a reading but I have a reason that I didn't offer. I have a problem with lighting whether it be too dim or too bright. As for minister participation, I do have a problem with that. First I do not feel worthy to handle the Host. Obviously many do not share my feelings, it is easily detectable in their attire and their inattention as they casually hand out the Body of Christ. The altar is overrun with ministers. The Magesterium has said it can be used in extreme circumstances by people who are carefully chosen. The first criteria is they have to BELIEVE.

Needless to say, I felt guilty but Monday I was to get an answer. At early Mass my two young grandsons said the pastor couldn't be there but that he had consecrated a sufficient number of hosts. They assisted the female minister as she communicated the small number of people who were there. Now that is extraordinary and I WILL do it if the need is there. Will I be anymore worthy to touch the Host, "No" but even if we only have one priest left in a number of parishes and he consecrates the hosts, we who believe will give the people whom they came to receive... Jesus. I heard and can't believe that 70% of Catholics do not believe in the Real Presence. Fallen away Catholics and those Catholics that attend church for socializing with the community, go sit before the tabernacle, be still and listen.

It has been a busy Christmas season. so busy that I haven't left the house for the past three days trying to rest. In the Catholic Church, the season isn't over until after the Epiphany which is on January 6th.

As I said briefly in an earlier post, I attended a 5PM vigil on Christmas Eve that was to count as a Christmas Mass. The Midnight Mass was at 10PM. Confusing isn't it? In what I call, the real Church of 43yrs. ago, Midnight Mass began at the stroke of 12PM. Entire families came with their children. As a child I went with my family and would sometimes fall asleep. In my Junior and Senior years in school I was one of the angels on the altar who made all these graceful arm movements to "O' Holy Night". It was indeed a beautiful tribute to the birth of the Christ Child. The years passed and my husband and I brought our children to Church with us but it wasn't the same anymore.

I still attend Mass of course but it is with a different perspective. I go to be present at the Sacrifice of the Mass (Calvary made present) and to receive the Eucharist. I take note of the abuses be they big ones or small ones. The Church was crowded with people filling all the pews and some standing. Christmas songs filled the air before Mass began which was acceptable but then, they started singing a very lively "Jingle Bells". I found myself "dashing through the snow". Some may disagree but another song that is not correct with Church teaching is "Mary Did You Know?" Of course she knew, the angel Gabriel told her he was the Son of God. Reminds me of a priest telling me that Jesus didn't know he was God. I sum it all up to many people including priests probably never believed. I will end with Peter's words,

Wishing you all a happy Christmas with family and friends. If you are Catholic, your top priority should be to get to Mass and receive the Eucharist. Go to Confession first and receive worthily. I attended Mass last evening and the Church was "packed"almost beyond its capacity .. everyone received communion, me too. I prayed that we , as One Body recognized the Body of Christ.

As usual, I have some catching up to do. The month has been very busy with preparations for Christmas both secular and spiritual. On December 12, the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe was celebrated. The church was filled with Spanish speaking people and a re-enactment of the apparition was presented. In July 1994, my late husband and I flew to Mexico City as pilgrims to visit the site of the apparition and view the "tilma". I have some catching up to do with actually posting what is going on in the Catholic Church in my area. So far so good. Could it be that things are happening because the faithful are stepping up and speaking out? I believe so. As all Catholics should know, December the 8th is the feast day of the Immaculate Conception. After so many years of searching for the True Church, albeit slow, it is coming back. The Sign of Peace that we offer to our brothers and sisters in Christ is good but has gotten somewhat out of hand with people crossing aisles to shake hands, waving etc. Many people like this gesture and it will remain but be somewhat subdued. Since this immediately precedes the Consecration. Pope Benedict XVI is going to move this ritual to a more appropiate part of the Mass.

My two grandsons serve as altar boys at our local parish and, yes, there is still an occasional girl altar boy. That somehow doesn't fit does it? I hadn't heard the hymn "Holy God We Praise Thy Name" it seems like in at least "umpteen" million years but at the Immaculate Conception Mass the recessional hymn was sang. Music was played on a piano which doesn't do it justice. Fr. K told the boys that he was going to move the organ back into the Church.

There are many of us out there but, unfortunately, not everyone uses a computer to get the word out. There is something we can all do, we can be a witness to the faith by giving good example no matter where we find ourselves. Don't hide the Light that is in us, let it shine.

If you are proclaiming to the world that you are Catholic, then you are proclaiming that Jesus Christ is the Author of confusion, an idol worshiper and a liar. Catholicism spits in the face of Christ. It is a man made, creation manipulating, idol worshiping work of the flesh and of Satan. Those who you promote are the modern day Pharisees, controlling and dominating their followers with lies, even to the point of making Mary co-redemtrix. Yes I am proclaiming that I am a Catholic and what's more I am claiming that I am in the faith that Our Savior, Jesus Christ established back when He walked the earth with His apostles telling them to preach to all nations and to tell them to observe ALL the commands I give you, yes there are many things He told us we couldn't do if we wanted to enter His kingdom. Also the most horrible to people is that Catholics (real ones that is) accept that He meant we had to look upon the breaking of the bread as receiving the actual body of Jesus. His disciples walked away then as many (including you) have walked away because it is a hard saying. My being accosted by you makes me happy as it confirms my faith even more Never would I attack you or anyone else. Go on persecute us, no slave is greater than the Master. The image of Jesus' mother is one of many along the coast that withstood the wrath of Katrina and I am happy to say this one is in my backyard.

The Magnificat, also called the Canticle of Mary, is recorded in the Gospel of Luke (1:46-55) It is the Virgin's response to the Angel Gabriel's announcement that she would become the mother of the Son of God.

The One True Faith : What Happened to the Catholic Church?

In this post, I will try to paint a visual picture of some of the happenings in the Catholic atmosphere in that time but first I will bring you up-to-date on my young family. In May of 1971 the little daughter I gave birth to in 1964 received her First Holy Communion in the nuns chapel as we awaited the completed construction of our church. In July 1971 my fourth baby daughter was born and baptized in the school cafeteria . Four daughters in the span of 10 yrs., I felt blessed.

I have no real complaints about the Catholic elementary school in those years, the youngest entered kindergarten in 1976. They were all taught by nuns who wore the full habit, wimple and all, but before the youngest graduated from elementary school the nuns had permission to modify their habits. I felt saddened because the habit was a witness to our faith. And then, wouldn't you know, two nuns approached me and said, "We heard you can sew Mrs. R, will you make our habits?" Aw Gee! I explained to them that all I sewed was playclothes for my girls, "culottes" were the rage then, and that I can't make a habit. As it went, I made two for one of them and the other only wanted one. They painstakingly, stitch by stitch, took their habits apart and presented the material to me. Because the material that I had been given was blessed many times, I handled it with reverence. I became a participant in something that I disagreed with. Shortly thereafter the nuns took their "real" names back .. Sr. Raphael became Sr. Maureen and so on. It didn't take a mastermind to know that something was happening.

I believe that ecumenism played a big part in the present crisis in the Church. It was an attempt to bring all religions together and let them have their say and try to reconcile differences to bring them into union with the Church so we can be one as Jesus prayed.

Chapter 17
John:verse 21

"That they all may be one, as thou, Father, in me, and I in thee; that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that thou hast sent me."

But, it backfired.

Throughout history, I have noticed, that when a big "Change" was to come about the previous possibly objecting generation had departed this life. Metaphorically, their voices were silenced. Today because of much improved medicine, that isn't the case anymore. My post will be about what I know about Vatican II (1962-1965) changes in the Catholic Church. Pope John XXIII reportedly said "I will open the windows so we can look out and they can look in." Sadly, they came in.

In that period of time, we didn't have the means of communication that we have today but I doubt we would have been paying much attention. We were young and most of us had left the homes of our parents when we married ... so there was that element of respect for authority ingrained.

It was 1964 and I was lying in a hospital bed cuddling my newborn baby daughter, my third child, when a priest entered the room. I have long since forgotten his name but I remember I had not seen him before. He said the doctor asked him to come talk to me about my having 3 children in just 5 yrs. He continued and said that Vatican II, which was still in session, had approved birth control and that he was giving me permission to take the "Pill" for 5 years and then stop. I am very sorry to say I did just that and was to learn many years later that the "Pill" was an abortifacient, meaning that there could have been times when I was pregnant but the pending life couldn't implant and was aborted. Even though it was deception, my actions were to become one of the biggest regrets in my life. Me, a stickler for truth, fell for the big "Lie".

Pope John XXIII died in 1963 before Vatican II ended. Pope Paul VI was to become the new pope and reportedly said, "The smoke of Satan has entered the Church." He wrote a beautiful Encyclical in 1968, Humanae Vitae that reiterated the Church's stance on birth control.

Matters pertaining to the Church didn't get any better in subsequent years. In 1969, Hurricane Camille devastated the Coast of Mississippi and although the church we attended in Gulfport looked fine from the outside, we were told because of a crack in the wall we couldn't step inside. It was a beautiful church, Spanish design with a red slate roof that resembled a small cathedral. Inside it was all Catholic with altar rails, votive candles that were lit in memory of the deceased or for a special intention, The altar and the priest faced the east (where Christ will come out of on His return) not the people. The Tabernacle was in the center. We attended Mass in the school cafeteria for 2 yrs. before the "New" church was re-opened. I gasped when we walked in, it was like a meeting hall, all that was "holy" was gone. Now the priest faced the people not Christ.

Hang in there you devout Catholics, you have found the treasure hidden in the field.

Matthew: Chapter 13

We are blind to truth as was Pontius Pilate, a Roman Emperor, when he asked Jesus, "What is truth?" We have had the truth in the Catholic Church for 2000 yrs. and although many were attracted to the faith they shied away from what they considered to be hard truths; namely the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, confession, birth control, divorce and the Blessed Mother. I had often asked myself why I believe and others don't. All that I have mentioned are important but the stumbling block is the Real Presence.

Let's take a passage out of scripture, John Chapter 6 Verse 41-47 The Jews had murmured about him because he had said, "I am the bread that has come down from heaven." And they kept saying, "Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph and Mary, whose father and mother we know?" How then can he say, "I am the bread that has come down from heaven" In answer therefore, Jesus said to them,

"Do not murmur among yourselves. No one can can come to me unless the Father who sent me draw him; and I will raise him up on the last day. It is written in the Prophets, "And they shall all be taught of God" Everyone who has listened to the Father and has learned, comes to me: not that anyone has seen the Father except him who is from God, he has seen the Father, Amen, amen, I say to you, he who believes in me has life everlasting.

To Catholics that have moved away from the teachings of the Church, you have been given a special gift, see the truth, Come home.

The Mystery of the Catholic Mass

The shock, that more than half of Catholics voted for the candidate that promotes abortion, has finally worn off and now I am ready to defend my Faith. Should I just assume that they have no idea what the Catholic Church teaches or do they think that no one has the right to tell them what to do, not even the Church that they proclaim faith in? By the grace of God, I was born into a Catholic family and attended a Catholic school. Anyone who has a dislike for the Church might say I was "brainwashed". ... I like to say I was "whitewashed. Can you even imagine how clean one feels after going to Confession? I received my First Holy Communion as a little girl, was confirmed when I was 12 yrs. old and was very impressed when the confirming Bishop said "Now you are a Soldier of Christ." I kept that in mind all through the years and wondered if I would ever be called on to be that soldier and, most importantly, would I have the "guts" to do it. Well, here I am ... we chose the name of a Saint we admired when confirmed .. mine was St. Lucy.

When I got to the dating age I dated guys from the public school but usually didn't like their poking fun at my beliefs, especially about the Blessed Mother. I reasoned that if I ever married that a disparity would exist in our union so I purposedly singled out the Catholic guys and eventually fell "head over heels" and had a Catholic wedding in the Church. We argued about everything under the sun but never about our beliefs. We happily shared many years until his death parted us.

In the present culture, many couples live together without the benefit of marriage. These unions are bound for failure. Without marriage it is called "fornication". Marriage does occur but more than half of the couples will seek a divorce. Many flippantly say, "If it doesn't work out, I can always get a divorce." In Christian ceremonies I would think that it is still said "What God has joined together, let no man put asunder." In the Church, marriage was raised to the dignity of a sacrament as Jesus was present at a wedding in Cana. When He was told the wine ran short He asked the waiters to fill 6 big water jars to the brim, He blessed them and the water turned to fine wine. He is truly present at a Catholic wedding and blesses the union.

We have serious moral decay in America. We are trying to get around immorality by giving "license" to grave sins. Just today, a man on television said that we might as well uplift the bans on "gay" marriage because the next generation will do it. The (gays) need "sanctity" in their union. I believe he meant to say sanction as the definition of sanctity is holiness.

It's difficult for me to talk about abortion because I had four children and remember how happy I was with each of their births. I was asked all four times by nurses if this was my first child. I was a stay at home Mom until the last was in kindergarten.

I am most certain that there are many good Christians from other faiths out there who believe much of what I have discussed and any comments from you would be welcome.
